Part 1 of the 3-part 'The Tyranny Gun.' The Martian Manhunter is taking command once again in a new series that puts an exciting spin on the Justice League! And issue #1 has a bound-in JUSTICE LEAGUE TASK FORCE membership card, so you can be a member! Not every global crisis can be solved by a team of superpowered warriors charging to the rescue in the light of day. Some situations are so challenging, so dangerous, they require covert operations carried out by handpicked operatives to handle missions with finesse. When such a crisis develops, the United Nations deploys the Justice League Task Force. Led by J'onn J'onzz, Task Force uses rotating membership drawn from inside and outside the current JL lineup, recruiting as needed those heroes best suited to handle a given mission. In the first 3-part story, the Martian Manhunter leads the New Titans' Nightwing, along with Aquaman, Green Lantern and the Flash, on a mission to prevent a doomsday device from destroying a Caribbean island torn by rebellion. Complicating matters is the presence of a formidable new super-villain called Blitz, who was hired to protect the underworld interests of the island's ruthless drug lords.
